Day 25 in Tianjin (now in Beijing) 01/04/2011
Went to Forbidden City today. It’s huge and packed with tourists, obviously. Along the way, the guide was explaining all the history of each building, and got to know that the importance of the building is depend on the amount of animal that got on their roof. It’s amazing. And got to know how their transport the stone that they craved for in front of the main office of the emperor, they actually dig the ground for the water hidden to raise, and freeze it. This help them as they make use of the zero friction of this ice to transport the stone. Damn smart. Went to TianAn Men and a old street nearby after our lunch. The street is full of old building, but with modern shop like Starbucks. The design is mixture of past and future, which is innovative in a sense. Went to have an early dinner instead and went back to hotel. As I saw those police guarding those important building, they are standing straight without any movement, really didn’t move an inch of their leg. That show how organise and discipline they are in a way..
